YOUR SPIRITUAL HOME
Adoption is an incredible process. If you are blessed with an adopted child, we hope you will welcome him or her into the Covenant of the Jewish people. This is a process that begins with converting your child to Judaism. This is a beautiful experience for the entire family - a powerful way to link your child to your tradition - to make it their own. Upon completion of conversion, you will receive a beautiful certificate affirming that your child is Jewish. You can learn more about conversion HERE.

Once your child is converted, we welcome him or her like any other Jewish child with Brit Milah or a Baby Naming.

If you have adopted a baby boy who is already circumcised, we will need to determine if a mohel was involved. If one was not, or we are not certain, it is best to have a ritual procedure known as Hatifat Dam performed. This is simple, painless procedure that involves drawing a tiny drop of blood from the foreskin. A mohel can easily perform Hatifat Dam and Rabbi Andrew can give you the name of a mohel you can trust.
